YouTube integrates AI features with video content creation tools
YouTube has decided to incorporate new AI features into its video-sharing platform, as parent company, Google, is accelerating efforts to compete with Microsoft and OpenAI.
"The power of artificial intelligence is just beginning to unfold in ways that will reinvent video and make what seems impossible possible," Neil Mohan, head of the new video service, wrote in a message to the YouTube community on Wednesday.
YouTube's plans will enable creators to do things that weren't possible in the past, like changing clothes in videos or even creating fictional content from the ground up, in the coming months.
In recent months, Google's competitors have launched much-loved products, such as OpenAI's ChatGBT and a new version of Microsoft's Bing search engine.
Google announced its competing service, Cool, in early February, amid a slowdown in digital advertising and speculation that AI-based chat apps could transform tech and internet businesses.
